With the warmer weather around the corner we thought we would share some of our personal favourite dog friendly spots and our best dog walking routes in the North East!

Pubs and lunch

Surf Café, Tynemouth
This cosy cafe is only a few minutes walk away from the gorgeous Tynemouth Beach and is perfect for relaxing with your pooch after a walk and enjoying local real ale. As well as beers they offer a great variety of hot drinks, food and live music performances.

Brandling Villa, Gosforth
The Brandling Villa has an amazing selection of food and drink, not only for us humans but for our dogs too! Their doggy menu includes ice cream, popcorn, Sunday roast and beers! You may even spot Frank or Bird, the resident pub dogs, on your visit.

The City Tavern, Newcastle
The City Tavern is located in the centre of Newcastle and has resident bar hounds named Alfie, Hector, Dillon and Rupert. They offer a lovely menu of gourmet treats including treats from Lily’s Kitchen.

The Beehive, Earsdon
The pub is located between the villages of Earsdon and Hartley on the border of North Tyneside and Northumberland. It has a fantastic and spacious outdoor seating area, perfect for a lazy day in the sun with your best friend after a walk down the Coast.

The Rising Sun Country Park, Wallsend
Our doggy customers will be very familiar with the Rising Sun as it is a regular spot for our group walks! The Park is home to farms, a countryside centre, café and lots of lovely tracks that you can explore with your pooch.

Plessey Woods Country Park, Bedlington
Plessey Woods offers 100 acres of woodland, meadow and riverside for you and your dog to explore. There is also a café, picnic area and children’s play area, making it a perfect family day out.

Chopwell Woodland Park, Rowlands Gill
There are four walking trails of varying lengths that lead through the woodland which allow you to choose the intensity of your walk. So whether you are looking for a short leisurely stroll or an action packed adventure Chopwell Park has you covered!

Seaton Sluice beach, Seaton Burn
This fantastic beach allows dogs all year round! Perfect for dogs who love a long walk and a paddle in the sea. Seaton Sluice is a coastal village with a harbour, a number of pubs, shops and places to eat.
